Northcote is a twin-home concept in Melbourne, Australia, designed by Arkhaus Studio. The residential CGI series presents two closely related homes through a restrained combination of dark timber, simple geometric forms and landscape integrated into the facades.
Two street-facing views explain the paired composition and its stepped relationship with the site. Deep vertical screens provide privacy, while cascading greenery softens the dark upper volumes and introduces texture across the frontage. A closer image focuses on the narrow planted space between the homes, where lighting and dense vegetation create a more intimate entrance experience.
The visualizations respect the project's emphasis on simplicity, timber and landscape without overloading the architecture with decorative elements. Together, the three images make the twin-home concept legible while preserving its quiet, contemporary character.
The main challenge was to show two related residences without making the frontage feel repetitive. Changes in viewpoint, planting and depth help distinguish the individual volumes, while consistent materials and screening maintain one coherent architectural identity.
