Spruce House is a residential property in Red Hook, New York, visualized for Upstate Modernist before construction. The client needed pre-sale images that would communicate not only the proposed home, but the privacy and atmosphere of its natural setting among mature spruce trees.
The ground-level rendering places the two-storey rectangular house deep within the forest. Large windows reveal warm interior light beneath the projecting upper volume, while afternoon sunlight filters through surrounding trees and across the approach. A black SUV and birds in the sky introduce scale and a quiet sense of arrival without disturbing the secluded mood.
An elevated second view opens up the full site plan. The house occupies a clearing beside a rectangular swimming pool and sun loungers, with a smaller detached outbuilding set nearby. Lawn and dense woodland form a natural boundary around the property, making the relationship between architecture, recreation and landscape immediately understandable.
Strategic lighting was used to draw attention towards the interior atrium and keep the heart of the house legible from outside. By pairing an intimate approach view with a broader aerial composition, the two renderings give prospective buyers both an emotional first impression and a clear overview of the unbuilt property's setting.
The central challenge was making architecture and forest feel inseparable. Tree density, clearing, pool, terrain, afternoon sunlight and interior illumination were balanced so the home remained readable without losing the privacy and tranquillity that define its value.
